Lukas Podolski has revealed Juventus and Tottenham have contacted him and he is interested in joining either of these football clubs after sitting on the bench at Bayern Munich last season.
According to German newspaper the Local, a Cologne tabloid had reported English side Tottenham, were ready to pay €20 million for the 23 year old, German striker.ÂÂ
The player has been in fine form for his country scoring three goals at the European football championships in Switzerland and Austria. “I was informed of the interest of both of these clubs and I find it very interesting,” Poldolski told the paper.
Polish-born, Podolski, the best young player of the 2006 World Cup, joined Bayern Munich for €10 million two years ago. However, he has not been able to get a regular first team place with Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose usually getting the nod ahead of him. Interestingly, Jurgen Klinsmann who launched Podolski’s international career while the player was still at second division Cologne, takes the helm at Bayern in July.
