Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has denied the club have approached Barcelona over a move for forward David Villa.
Reports in Spain had suggested that a move could be in the offing, but this has now been refuted by the 57-year-old.
Juve are looking to sign a high-profile striker, and have been linked with Robin van Persie, Edin Dzeko and Fernando Llorente at various times. However, 30-year-old Villa is not on their list of targets.
“I can rule out any interest or negotiations for David Villa,” Marotta told Mundo Deportivo.
“He is a great player, but not the type we are looking for. We want a striker in the style of Edinson Cavani or Llorente, who are our primary targets along with Edin Dzeko.”
