(GSM) – Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is set to turn down Juventus. The Italians have given the Spanish manager a deadline until tomorrow but Benitez is set to reject a move to Turin.

Juve are ready to look to bring back former player and coach Didier Deschamps from Olympique Marseille after being hit by a compensation demand from Liverpool believed to be £10m.

A source close to the Italian club told the Sunday Mirror: “Juventus feel they have gone as far as they can to bring Benitez to Italy.

“The latest obstacle is compensation. Time is starting to run out.”

Liverpool believe Juve’s bid to prise Benitez away has been driven by his agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon.

Benitez has four years left on his contract and it would have cost co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett £16million to sack him.
