Juventus and Benfica vying for Rodrigo Bentancur

Argentine giants Boca Juniors have moved to confirm that Juventus and Benfica are keen on talented midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.

The 18-year-old is the latest talent to have come out of club’s youth academy, and he has already amassed 25 league appearances.

Portuguese giants Benfica are expected to try and lure Bentancur to Estadio da Luz in the summer transfer window, but they could face stiff competition from the likes of Juventus.

Namely, the Italian champions secured the right of first refusal on the youngster as part of the deal taking Carlos Tevez to La Bombonera.

Boca Juniors chief Jose Requejo has moved to reveal the interest of Benfica and explained the situation with regards to Juventus.

“There is an interest from Benfica. But, Juventus have the first option on the player and they will be consulted in case of any offer,” Requejo explained to Record.

The Uruguayan footballer has impressed in the central midfield role at La Bombonera and it would appear as though he will be moving to Europe in a near future.
