Juventus have won their 29th Italian league title thanks to a 1-0 home win over relegation-threatened Palermo on Sunday.

Antonio Conte’s side strode to success in style after amassing eight consecutive wins, a better run than any other team in Serie A has managed this season, and wrapped up the title with three games to spare.

Arturo Vidal’s 59th-minute penalty gave Juve the three points against Palermo in a game that was played in a party atmosphere in Turin despite Paul Pogba’s late red card.

Their latest triumph extends their lead as the most successful side in Italian football, with Inter and Milan both way behind on 18 title wins apiece.

Juve’s success has once again been built primarily on their strong defence – they have conceded just 20 goals in 35 league games throughout the campaign – while Vidal is their leading scorer with 10 goals in Serie A.
