Juventus handed boost in Cavani pursuit

Italian champions Juventus have been handed a major boost in the chase for PSG striker Edinson Cavani, according to Tuttosport.

It is no secret that the Bianconeri are keen on luring the Uruguayan to Turin, but it was believed that Chelsea had the upper hand.

Nevertheless, it has now been revealed that the Blues have cooled off interest in Cavani since they plan to bring Romelu Lukaku to Stamford Bridge instead.

That will be great news for Juventus officials, who have already held several meetings with the player’s representatives in recent weeks.

Cavani is ready to leave PSG in case of a good offer as he is not exactly satisfied with his status at the squad having been constantly played out of position.

Taking that into account, the 29-year-old has done really well since joining the Saints from Napoli, bagging 48 goals in 93 Ligue 1 appearances for the club.
