Juventus midfielder chase continues – next up, Sevilla’s Christian Poulsen

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are preparing a bid for Sevilla’s Christian Poulsen. The midfielder is a notorious figure in Italy following his clash with Francesco Totti at Euro 2004.

Juve are well known to be in the market for a midfielder this summer, but despite their best efforts have still been unable to secure any of their desired targets. These include Xabi Alonso, Alberto Aquilani, Dejan Stankovic and Marek Hamsik.

The Bianconeri have now turned their attentions to Sevilla’s 28 year old Danish playmaker, Christian Poulsen. The player has a minimum fee release clause of €10 million, and according to the Gazzetta, transfer director Alessio Secco is due to hold a meeting with the player’s agent today.

Juve’s administration including coach Claudio Ranieri, have all sanctioned the move to sign Poulsen with a three-year contract worth €2.5m per season being the reported proposal.
