Juventus move ahead of Manchester United in race for Lewandowski

A report from Talk Sport today suggests that Juventus are ready to do battle with Manchester United to try and sign Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.

The Polish international is regarded as one of the highest-rated strikers in European football at the moment and scored yet again on Sunday in Dortmund’s 1-1 draw with Hannover in the Bundesliga.

This form has not gone unnoticed though and the 24-year-old is being watched by both of these giants of the game.

Recently it had looked as though the English Premier League side had the upper hand and were the favourites to land Lewandowski as soon as they January transfer window opened, however the Serie A champions are ready to push them all the way.

Juventus are now reportedly in advanced talked with Lewandowski’s representatives, meaning that Sir Alex Ferguson would have to make his move quickly.

In a story that seems to be changing by the day, one thing that stays the same is Dortmund’s desire to keep on of their most prized assets at the club.

The Bundesliga champions want to mount a challenge for the title and reach the latter stages of the Champions League this year – so cannot afford to lose someone of Lewandowski’s quality in the middle of a season.
