The day in Serie A started with a bang as Bari defeated Juventus, but AC Milan made sure that at least one of the big guns emerges victorious from today’s games.

Juventus fans had high hopes for this season after the team, as well as the coaching staff, were completely revamped over the summer but the Bianconeri were simply not a match to their less illustrious opponents.

Luigi del Neri handed debuts to new signings Krasic, Quagliarella, Motta, Bonucci and Pepe, but it was former Milan midfielder Massimo Donati who stole the show by scoring the only goal of the game just before the half-time break.

Milan, on the other hand, had no such problems as they hammered Lecce 4:0, mostly thanks to Pato’s brace, with Thiago Silva and Pippo Inzaghi the other players on the scoresheet.

Chievo managed to record a very important win over Catania thanks to last gasp penalty by Sergio Pellissier, after Moscardelli’s opener was canceled out by Ricchiutti.

Fiorentina and Napoli played out an entertaining draw at Stadio Artemio Franchi, as both sides finished the match with ten men on the pitch thanks to red cards awarded to Juan Manuel Vargas and Manuele Blasi. Napoli had taken the lead early on through Cavani, but D’Agostino made sure that one point stays in Florence by scoring few minutes after the break.

Palermo and Cagliari offered little to the fans at Renzo Barbera as the match ended goalless, while Parma and Sampdoria recorded 2:0 wins against Brescia and Lazio respectively.

Bojinov and Morrone were the scorers for Parma, while Cassano and Guberti scored for Sampdoria.
