FC Seoul confirmed their status as South Korea’s top team, while Suwon Bluewings claimed a valuable win in the K-League on Sunday.

Seoul, who secured their second K-League title in three years with a victory over Jeju United midweek, accounted for second-placed Jeonbuk Motors 1-0 at home.

Colombian midfielder Mauricio Molina scored the decisive goal on 17 minutes, extending Seoul’s advantage over Jeonbuk to 15 points with two games remaining.

Elsewhere in the championship round, Suwon climbed to third on the table and the final AFC Champions League berth after ending a five-match winless streak with a 2-1 home victory over Busan I’Park.

Macedonian forward Stevica Ristic put the hosts in front in the 34th minute before Kim Do-Heon doubled the advantage four minutes later. Lim Sang-Hyub netted a consolation goal for Busan in the dying stages.

The Bluewings are two points clear of fourth-placed Pohang Steelers, who were held to a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to Gyeongnam.

Pohang led on three separate occasions but failed to hold on for the victory as Kim In-Han’s 79th-minute goal salvaged a point for the visitors.

Meanwhile, fifth-placed Ulsan twice came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw away to sixth-placed Jeju.

In the relegation round, Daegu hosted Incheon United in a 2-2 draw, while Daejeon Citizen and Gwangju played out a 1-1 stalemate.
