Frederic Kanoute is mulling over his options as he targets a move to the Middle East, China or the United States.
The 34-year-old has parted ways with La Liga side Sevilla after seven seasons and 128 goals for the club.
The former Tottenham forward has already met with Chinese Super League (CSL) outfit Beijing Guoan following their offer for his services, and admitted he is happy with how talks progressed, although he is not ruling out other possibilities yet.
“I went to China to discuss an offer that I got from the Chinese club,” he told reporters.
“I am delighted with what I heard.
“However, I have a lot of offers on the table at the moment and fingers crossed I will make the right choice.”
Ex-Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has already moved to the CSL to join Shanghai Shenhua, where he reunites with former Blues team-mate Nicolas Anelka.
Kanoute said the Ivorian’s move will benefit Shanghai and the football development in the country, while adding he is anticipating next season starting, no matter where he ends up.
“It is fantastic for China,” he said.
“That will make their football attractive.
“Football has developed everywhere nowadays – all leagues are now very competitive.
“My career is not finished yet, I can still play at the top level. I am looking forward to next season either in the Middle East or China or the United States.”
