Keita wants Roma stay

AS Roma midfielder Seydou Keita has all but confirmed that he plans to remain at Stadio Olimpico beyond the current season.

The 35-year-old joined the Giallorossi on a free transfer from Valencia last summer and he enjoyed a bright start to his career in Italy.

As a result, the club chiefs are ready to offer him a new one-year deal, and it appears that Keita is looking forward to remaining at Stadio Olimpico.

“I want to play in the Champions League again, possibly without going through the qualifying stages,” the veteran midfielder told El Mundo Deportivo.

Roma have a perfect opportunity to secure a second-place finish as they face third-placed Lazio at Stadio Olimpico on Monday evening, with the Giallorossi priced at 5/2 to emerge victorious.

Seydou Keita spent the most successful period of his career in Spanish La Liga, winning three league trophies with Barcelona and lifting two Champions League titles in 2009 and 2011.

He has made a total of 25 league appearances for Roma, scoring 2 goals in the process.
