Kevin Gameiro eager to stay at Atletico Madrid

French media outlet L’Equipe has suggested that Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro is not interested in leaving the club this winter.

Following the arrival of Diego Costa and Vitolo, the Frenchman has been heavily linked with a winter exit, but he is hoping to stay at the club for as long as possible.

Gameiro is ready to fight for his place at Wanda Metropolitano and wants to persuade head coach Diego Simeone that he is a valuable member of the squad.

With Diego Costa suspended, the 30-year-old impressed to score the winner in weekend’s triumph over Eibar, and he has now netted 4 times in 12 La Liga appearances this term.

Gameiro has a contract until June 2020 at Wanda Metropolitano and he hopes to remain at the club for as long as possible.
