Football fans from across the continent of Europe have converged on Poland and Ukraine as Euro 2012 enjoys its opening weekend.

And the host cities are making the most of the attention from the mass of sporting tourists.

Like many of the other venues, Kharkiv in Ukraine has constructed a fan zone where supporters can make the most of the local hospitality.

Kharkiv is playing host to a number of Group B games, with the Netherlands and Denmark already playing their clash at the Metalist Stadium.

Fans coming to the Ukrainian city to watch their nation will have more than just football to enjoy during their visit.

As well as three giant screens set up in Freedom square to let fans see the games, they will also get the chance to show off their own skills on a five-a-side football pitch.

And there are ample opportunities to sample local food, get their faces painted and purchase souvenirs from the event.

The Metalist Stadium will host three Group B matches, with Netherland and Germany set to clash there on Wednesday.
