Kiessling flattered by Dortmund interest

Bayer Leverkusen striker Stefan Kiessling admits he is flattered by the reported interest from Borussia Dortmund.

It is no secret the Millionaires are looking to sign a replacement for Robert Lewandowski and they have been linked with a number of high-profile strikers.

The latest name on their hit-list is Bayer Leverkusen forward Stefan Kiessling, who is currently Bundesliga top scorer together with Mario Mandzukic.

The 29-year-old attacker says he is proud to be linked to such a great club, but does not want to create problems at his current club.

“I know nothing. I am surprised. This is not an issue for me,” Kiessling was quoted as saying in Sport Bild.

“If my name is mentioned in such a context, that is an acknowledgement. But, I do not want this to bring unrest.”

Stefan Kiessling has developed into one of the best Bundesliga strikers soon after joining the club in a €6.5 million deal from Nurnberg.

He has since bagged 88 goals in 208 league appearances for the club, but he was especially impressive this term, netting 15 times in 22 league matches.

I don’t understand what all the rumors of Lewandowski are about.. Why would he consider going to Bayern when they’re already got two strikers. Gomez doesn’t even start anymore because of Mandzukic, let alone bringing in another striker putting Gomez down in the pecking order. Kiessling shouldn’t be getting happy because I’m 99.9% sure he wouldn’t leave Dortmund to sit on the bench for Bayern. Neymar is linked with a summer move now that Pep is taking over.If he’s signed, Pep is going to most likely going to play Neymar over Gomez. If anything Lewandowski will extend his contract at Dortmund…
