Borussia Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp believes a win over bottom side Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday is far from assured.
Moenchengladbach lie seven points from safety at the foot of the table with four games remaining, but Klopp is wary of the danger the struggling side poses to his league-leaders.
“If you saw Moenchengladbach’s squad in the beginning of the season, you wouldn’t have expected them to be at the bottom of the league,” Klopp said.
“They have been hit by a series of injuries that is unique in the league, and they have lost all of their defence. That led to a season that has been very problematic.”
A win for Dortmund would seal their seventh Bundesliga title, and first in nine seasons, if second-placed Bayer Leverkusen fail to beat Hoffenheim at home.
But with Moenchengladbach fighting for survival, Klopp knows that will not be easy.
“It will be a difficult task for us. And as I remember, I never said this game will be an easy task. It will be very difficult, he said.
“For Gladbach it is all about the survival. And in this game we will feel that. But anyway, we want to win there. Not just for the reason that we might win the title if Leverkusen don’t win…don’t count on that at all.”
“I can’t imagine Hoffenheim winning against Leverkusen after their performances this season. We want to collect our points, because we do not want to end our season poorly, we want to show our fans the football they are used to and expect.”
