Patrick Kluivert says it would be a dream for him to coach Barcelona, but added he would not turn down the chance to work at Real Madrid.
The 36-year-old Dutchman, who is working as assistant to Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal, wore the Barcelona jersey from 1998 until 2004, and scored over 100 goals for the Catalan giants during his spell at Camp Nou.
“It’s clear that it would be a dream for me to coach Barcelona at one point,” Kluivert told Esports COPE.
“Barcelona are without a doubt the number one in my dreams, and I would like that dream to come true. I really hope to become a great coach, that’s the most important thing for me.
“If the opportunity arose to take charge of Real Madrid? Why not – I would not turn them down.”
Kluivert then went on to praise current Barca stars Xavi and Andres Iniesta, who were his team-mates during his career.
“I already realised back then that they would go really far. It’s incredible to see them play,” he said.
“They were still young guys back then, and now they’re the leaders of Barcelona. I thoroughly enjoy seeing them in action.”
