Mainz 05 have completed the signing of Julian Koch from Borussia Dortmund for an undisclosed fee, it was announced on Wednesday.

The versatile defender has put pen to paper on a four-year deal after failing to establish himself in Dortmund’s first team.
Koch spent last season on loan at Bundesliga 2 side MSV Duisburg and is excited at the prospect of starting his Mainz career.
“I have already spoken in the winter with Thomas Tuchel (Mainz coach), and the conversation grabbed me immediately,” Koch told the club’s official website.
“Tuchel is an outstanding coach and has managed in recent years to repeatedly bring young players forward.”
General manager Christian Heidel added: “We had a strong interest in the winter, and we are glad we have reached an agreement with Julian Koch and Borussia Dortmund.
“He is versatile, but we see him playing in the full-back position.”
