Toni Kroos says Bayern Munich are brimming with confidence and are keen to go all the way in the Champions League this season.

The Bavarians were beaten by Chelsea in the final of last year’s edition of club football’s premier competition, and Kroos is determined to make amends this season.

“The Champions League title is incredibly important for me, as important as the Bundesliga title,” Kroos told German sports magazine Kicker.

“When you’ve made the final once, you want to get there again. We have added more depth to our team to make sure we can compete in all competitions, also in the Champions League.

“We will do our utmost to win the Champions League. That’s our only goal. We want the trophy. We are very motivated to go all the way.

“It’s impossible to forget the lost final against Chelsea, because we were so close, but we have moved on. The defeat serves as a motivation to do better this year. We all want to make it to Wembley.”

Bayern Munich beat Valencia 2-1 in their Champions League opener, and will take on BATE Borisov on Tuesday in their second game.
