The Daily Telegraph reports that Mike Ashley could be close to finding a buyer for his troubled club as Kuwaiti billionaire, Al Kharafi, valued at about $12 billion, has reportedly made contact with the Newcastle United owner.

According to the same report, Al Kharafi has sent an intermediary to Newcastle discuss any potential bit of business; however any move seems to be put off by Mike Ashley’s high price and refuals to negotiate:

“Nasser Al Kharafi has the money to buy the club, but the way Mike Ashley is going about things is wrong. He is actually putting off any interested buyers with the price and his refusal to negotiate. If he genuinely wants to sell he is going about it the wrong way,” said the intermediary.

“As things stand he will be returning to England without a buyer.”
