LA Galaxy cool Lescott interest

LA Galaxy have ruled out a move for Aston Villa defender Joleon Lescott, according to the Mirror.

The MLS side had been linked with the former Everton and Manchester City man but have decided against making a bid, having also been monitoring his situation in January.

Rangers also attempted to secure his services but saw a potential deal fall through, with the transfer deadline just over a week away.

Lescott only moved to Villa Park a year ago but was unable to help the Midlands side avoid relegation to the Championship.

In total he has racked up thirty-one appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring his one and only goal for them so far in a 1-1 draw with Southampton back in December.

Villa sit twelfth in the second tier having taken five points from their opening four games of the season and next face Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.
