Celta Vigo notched their third home win in a row as they toppled Sevilla 2-0 in La Liga.
All of Celta’s nine points have been registered at Estadio de Balaidos but Friday’s win over an in-form Sevilla was arguably their most impressive.
After a goalless first half, Paco Herrera’s side took the lead on the hour-mark from the penalty spot.
Spaniard Iago Aspas – who scored 23 league goals for the club in their promotion-winning campaign last season – made no mistake, netting his third goal in five games.
Sevilla boss Michel attempted to change things, introducing Manu del Moral off the bench but their attempts to score an equaliser were futile.
And Celta capped off the win when substitute Enrique de Lucas scored the winner after 85 minutes, just seconds after being introduced.
Celta moved ahead of four sides and jumped inside the top half of the table as a result of their victory while Sevilla sit fifth.
