Osasuna boosted their survival hopes in La Liga with a late 2-0 win away to Levante on Monday.

Jose Mendilibar’s men needed interventions from substitutes Masoud Shojaei and Enrique Sola to secure all three points, which took them five points clear of the drop.

Osasuna now sit in 14th spot on 28 points, six behind the team they conquered at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia, who are in 10th spot.

Iranian Shojaei netted in the 88th minute, just eight minutes after replacing Miguel De las Cuevas, before Sola scored in the fourth minute of added time.

The result extended Osasuna’s unbeaten run in the league to three matches – with their only loss in their past seven coming at the hands of Barcelona.

Levante fell to their first defeat in three in all competitions, however they have picked up just one point in their past four league clashes.
