La Liga midfielder ponders MLS switch

Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Alex Bergantinos is seriously considering the possibility of moving to Major League Soccer, Marca can reveal.

The 31-year-old had been an important member of the squad until this season and is still one of the captains, but his days at Riazor seem numbered.

Namely, having failed to make a single La Liga appearance this season, Bergantinos is widely expected to leave Deportivo La Coruna in the winter transfer window.

It is expected that the club will not stand in his way and while the experienced footballer has offers from Spanish Segunda, he is also being linked with a move to Major League Soccer.

The new MLS season is due to kick off in March and clubs are in the market for reinforcements.

Bergantinos, who also played for Xerez, Granada and Gimnastic Tarragona, made a total of 163 league appearances for the Estadio Riazor outfit.
