Real Vallecano’s bid for European football took a hit after they were held to a 2-2 draw by La Liga strugglers Osasuna on Friday.

Montenegrin striker Andrija Delibasic scored the opening goal for Vallecano inside seven minutes, heading past goalkeeper Andres Fernandez.

However, Vallecano’s lead last just a minute after Raoul Cedric Loe restored parity for the visiting side.

Osasuna found themselves in front five minutes later, when Alejandro Arribas took full advantage of some slack defending.

Vallecano dominated possession after the interval and deservedly equalised in the 57th-minute through captain Piti, who netted his 15th league goal of the season.

The hosts continued in search of a third goal but couldn’t find a match-winner.

Vallecano – who are without a win at home in three matches – remain in eighth position, four points shy of the final Europa League spot with five minutes remaining, while Osasuna move five points clear of the relegation zone.
