Lanzini closing in on permanent West Ham switch

West Ham United are set to secure the permanent transfer of Manuel Lanzini ahead of schedule, according to Sky Sports.

The attacking midfielder moved to Upton Park on loan from UAE side Al Jazira Club in the summer, and has been one of the star performers in Slaven Bilic’s side so far this season.

He has made fourteen appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring five goals and had also been linked with a switch to Liverpool.

However, the Argentina international now looks set to commit himself to the East London outfit, who are currently among a whole host of Premier League sides pushing for a European qualification spot.

The Hammers were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom of the table Aston Villa on Boxing Day but could move to within three points of the top four with victory in their home match with Southampton on Monday afternoon.
