Las Palmas fear missing out on Jese

Las Palmas fear being priced out of a loan move for unwanted Paris Saint-Germain winger Jese Rodriguez.

Jese is available for a temporary transfer when the window opens next month after finding playing time hard to come by at the Parc des Princes following his switch from Real Madrid in August.

The 23-year-old has made just 14 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice, and will drop further down the pecking order when PSG complete a deal for Wolfsburg’s Germany international Julian Draxler.

A deal to join Las Palmas, his hometown team, is the player’s reported preference but the Gran Canaria club’s president Miguel Angel Ramirez accepts the finances involved mean the Liga side may miss out.

Ramirez told Marca: “He wants to come to Las Palmas, but has a salary we cannot afford.

“There are important clubs in Europe who are willing to pay the full salary. Therefore, we are at a disadvantage and will have to wait.”

Reports in Spain suggest Jese may take a pay cut to make the move happen.

“We are working on it and do not have to hurry,” Ramirez added. “We don’t want to create false expectations. Our policy on spending is not going to change.”
