Lasse Schone open to Ajax stay

Denmark international Lasse Schone has suggested that he is prepared to remain at Ajax in spite of the reported interest from Spain and England.

The highly rated midfielder has less than a year left on his deal at Amsterdam ArenA and he is being linked with a move away from the club.

However, the 28-year-old is adamant he is not desperate to leave the Amsterdammers and is ready to enter talks over a contract extension.

“I never said I wanted to leave,” Schone told Dutch TV station AT5. “We can always talk, and I have always said that I am open (for negotiations).”

Lasse Schone joined Ajax from NEC Nijmegen two years ago and he quickly developed into an important player at Amsterdam ArenA.

The Denmark international went on to make 66 Eredivisie outings, scoring 18 goals in the process, while making another 13 Champions League appearances.

After winning last three league fixtures to catch rivals PSV Eindhoven at the top of the standings, Ajax are 1/3 favourites to defeat PEC Zwolle tomorrow afternoon.
