Laudrup admits Graham is in demand

Michael Laudrup has confirmed that Swansea striker Danny Graham has been the subject of several bids.

But Laudrup has declined to comment on reports linking Stoke forward Kenwyne Jones with a January move to the Liberty Stadium.

Graham, who was the Swans’ top scorer last campaign, has been the subject of much recent speculation linking him with Sunderland and Norwich.

Though Laudrup did not name any of the bidders, the Dane did admit his striker had drawn interest from rival clubs in recent days.

“Everywhere it is saying there have been some official bids,” Laudrup told reporters.

“It is true, but apart from that I don’t really have any comment as in the next four days we have two very important games.

“So my only comment is we have had some bids and I don’t want to go into detail about what clubs they are.”

The Swans host Stoke City on Saturday, and are likely to be coming up against their own rumoured transfer target in Trinidadian striker Jones.

When asked about Swansea’s reported interest in the forward, though, the Dane was unwilling to be drawn into making any concrete declarations, preferring instead to discuss the match itself.

“(Jones) will probably play. Maybe if he can play with us it can be 12 against 10 but I don’t think that will happen,” Laudrup joked.

“Let’s just say it is not the proper time to talk about a player when he is playing against us in around 24 hours time. Let’s hope tomorrow he does not have too good a day as it is better for us.

“Saturday is a very important home game against Stoke in the league as after that we have two difficult away games against Sunderland and West Ham, and we all know about the game on Wednesday (against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup), so that is much more important.”
