Lazio can be ´dangerous´, says Reja

Lazio manager Edy Reja is confident his side can gain a result when they face Inter Milan at the San Siro in the Serie A on Saturday.

Reja’s side have impressed at the Stadio Olimpico this season but struggled on their travels, highlighted by the fact that – before last Sunday – Lazio had just won once on the road since October.

But a 4-1 away win at Catania has lifted spirits within the Lazio squad and Reja believes his side will enter the match with the right mindset.

“In Milan, if you aren’t in good physical and mental shape, as well as tactically and technically, it becomes difficult to win the game,” Reja said.

“That’s my hope because at the moment we are calm – we are convinced about our capabilities and we will play with conviction.”

“Our performances have certainly been consistent, both from a physical and mental point of view and I hope this will continue for the remainder of the season. ”

A win for Reja’s side would bring them level on points with the third-placed Inter. And if Lazio managed to finish third, they would earn themselves an automatic berth in the Champions League group stages.

Even a fourth-placed finish would see them in the qualifying stages of Europe’s most prestigious club football tournament, though Reja is not getting carried away about all the different possibilities.

“Let’s think about tomorrow’s game and then when tomorrow’s game is finished we will see where we are in the table, and where the others are, and we’ll be able to say more about it,” he said.

“Let’s only think of ourselves. If the team maintain the good shape we’ve had recently, it’s obvious we can go everywhere and be dangerous everywhere.”
