Lazio in fresh assault on Rodrigo Caio

Serie A strugglers Lazio have launched a new assault on Sao Paulo defender Rodrigo Caio, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Biancocelesti have identified the Brazilian centre-back as a perfect defensive partner for Stefan de Vrij and they are eager to bring him to Stadio Olimpico.

Following several unsuccessful attempts, Lazio are ready to start the bidding at €8 million, and it remains to be seen whether they can find an agreement with the player’s current employers.

The problem is that Sevilla and Valencia are also showing interest in the player who will captain Brazil at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

There have finally been some good news for Lazio fans as Monaco defender Wallace is about to arrive at Stadio Olimpico, while Ciro Immobile is set to join as well.

However, the club chiefs are aware few more reinforcements are needed if the team are to show any improvement on last season.
