Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Serie A strugglers Lazio are in advanced talks with Barcelona defender Adriano Correia over a summer move to Stadio Olimpico.
The Biancocelesti aim to recruit a left-sided defender and even though they are also keen on Empoli’s Mario Rui, they have now turn their attention to long-term target Adriano.
Lazio officials have been in talks with his representatives of late and everything suggests they will eventually reach an agreement.
The Brazilian’s high wage demands could prove to be a problem, but the Biancocelesti can be trusted to make an extra effort since they will not be required to pay a transfer fee.
Namely, even though Adriano recently extended his contract at Camp Nou for another year, the Catalans are ready to let him leave on a free transfer this summer considering that he is not exactly in Luis Enrique’s first team plans for the 2016/2017 season.
