Lazio keen on Robin van Persie

Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that Lazio are considering a summer move for Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie.

The Biancocelesti will probably stay without Miroslav Klose at the end of the season and they want the Dutch forward to replace him at Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare remained in Istanbul a day more than the squad that faced Galatasaray in Europa League and many believe the purpose of his stay was to meet with Robin van Persie.

The Dutch striker recently admitted he was unhappy by the lack of playing time at Sukru Saracoglu and he is almost certain to leave the Turkish giants for greener pastures in the summer.

The 32-year-old has scored 9 goals in 21 league outings this season, but he has only started one league fixture in 2016.

His suitors Lazio are in a good position to progress to the Europa League last 16 stage following the 1-1 draw in Istanbul and they are 1/2 to win the return leg.
