Lazio ponder swoop for Giovanni Simeone

Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested that Lazio are readying summer bid for Genoa forward Giovanni Simeone.

The Biancocelesti appear to have come to terms with losing Balde Diao Keita at the end of the season, and while Ciro Immobile will remain the number one striker, the club officials hope to partner him with Giovanni Simeone.

The Argentine has largely impressed in his maiden Serie A campaign, bagging 10 goals in 29 outings for relegation strugglers Genoa, and a big club move appears on the cards.

Simeone was also linked with other top clubs, but Lazio do appear to be a perfect destination for the talented forward.

It remains to be seen whether the Biancocelesti will be able to find an agreement with Genoa, although the Rossoblu are unlikely to miss the opportunity to earn a hefty profit on the Argentine footballer.

The son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has already made a name for himself and a move to Lazio would be the logical next step.
