UOL Esporte understands that Lazio have submitted an official proposal for Sao Paulo defender Rodrigo Caio.
The Biancocelesti had several unsuccessful attempts to recruit the 23-year-old centre-back, but they clearly plan to make things right.
With Stefan de Vrij likely to leave for greener pastures, Lazio have made a fresh assault on Rodrigo Caio, offering €14 million for his services.
Sao Paulo have so far refused to confirm they have received the proposal, but with their asking price being €15 million, chances are an agreement will soon be reached.
Even though Caio had signed a new deal until June 2021 a couple of months ago, it would appear as though he is finally set to move to Europe.
The highly rated centre-back has been named in the Brazil squad for June friendlies, and the Selecao are 9/5 to defeat Argentina on Friday.
