Leicester back in for Naughton

Leicester City have made an approach for in demand Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kyle Naughton, according to the Mirror.

The 26 year old has appeared in just a third of Spurs’ games in all competitions so far this season and is set to move further down the pecking order after USA World Cup star DeAndre Yedlin arrived at the club from Seattle Sounders.

Naughton moved to White Hart Lane from Sheffield United in July 2009, but has spent much of the time since out on loan with spells at Leicester and Norwich City.

Swansea City and Queens Park Rangers are also monitoring the former England U21 international’s situation but the Foxes, who have already brought in goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer and agreed a deal for forward Andrej Kramaric this month, are keen to steal a march on their rivals.

Nigel Pearson’s side are just three points from safety following their win over Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon, and can now be backed at 5/6 to avoid relegation.
