Leicester City set to sign Islam Slimani

Premier League champions are stepping up their efforts to sign Algerian striker Islam Slimani from Sporting CP, according to A Bola.

Despite adding Ahmed Musa and Bartosz Kapustka to their ranks, the Foxes plan to further strengthen their front line and have now set their sights on the Primeira Liga hotshot.

A Bola claims they have submitted a €35 million proposal for the player’s services, but Sporting hope to receive some €40 million for their star player.

However, having just recruited Bas Dost and Luc Castaignos, it is clear that the Lions are prepared to cash in on their prized asset, who they valued at €30 million just weeks ago.

Islam Slimani was in tears as he said goodbye to Sporting CP fans with a goal in the derby game against FC Porto, and after bagging 46 goals in 82 league outings for the Lions, he deserves to test his skills in one of the top leagues.
