Competition: Premier League
Market: Jamie Vardy to be top goalscorer
Odds: 2/1 @ Coral
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy continued his impressive scoring run with a goal on the weekend against Watford to pull clear in the Premier League scoring charts. The in-form 28-year-old finds himself five goals ahead of the competition with 12 goals from as many games so far, and could well be enjoying the Golden Boot in the summer if he can continue finding the back of the net.
Vardy has scored in nine consecutive Premier League games for the Foxes, and is nearing Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s record of 10 for Manchester United. While breaking the consecutive scoring record would be a fantastic achievement for a player with humble roots in the non-league, Vardy will be eyeing the Golden Boot in the summer, and could be the first Englishman to rule the roost for goals since Kevin Phillips (30 goals for Sunderland in 1999/2000).
His performances have helped Leicester City to the top-four of the Premier League early on, and their penchant to attack is leading to Vardy getting the ball in dangerous areas to strike. His form has also led to him representing England against all odds, and Coral are giving odds of 2/1 for Vardy to end this fairytale campaign with the Premier League Golden Boot.
