Leicester City have completed the signing of attacker Ahmed Musa from CSKA Moscow on a four-year contract.

Claudio Ranieri’s side confirmed on Friday that they have finalised their move for the Nigeria international, pending FA and Premier League approval.

Musa, 23, has reportedly cost Leicester a club-record fee of around £16million.

“I feel very happy joining Leicester City, for me it is one of the best clubs and I feel very happy,” Musa told the club’s official website.

“I joined because it is one of the best clubs in the Premier League and they are like a family. That is why I joined Leicester City and I am very excited.

“I look forward to seeing the fans in the new season and I will do my best to make them happy.”

The Premier League champions have now signed four players as they prepare for the defence of their title and a Champions League campaign, with centre-back Luis Hernandez, goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler and midfielder Nampalys Mendy already joining.

Musa scored 54 goals in 168 games for CSKA in four-and-a-half years with the club and won three Russian Premier League titles and a Russian Cup.

At international level he already has 58 caps and won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013 as well as becoming the first Nigeria player to score twice in a World Cup match against Argentina in 2014.

Leicester praised Musa in their statement announcing the deal, stating he is “blessed with natural speed and agility” and pointing out that he “can operate either on the wing or up-front”.
