Neil Lennon has heaped praised on Charlie Mulgrew for his performance in Celtic’s clash with Dunfermline on Monday.

Mulgrew was involved in all three goals in the 3-0 win for the league leaders.

His cross allowed Anthony Stokes to open the scoring in the 18th minute before Victor Wanyama latched on to another effort to double Celtic’s lead.

The former Aberdeen defender rounded off his performance with a cracking 30-yard free kick in the 69th minute to cement the win.

“He’s having a great time of it at the minute, I thought he had a great game on Wednesday (against Rangers),” he said.

“His delivery wasn’t quite there for a couple of weeks but now he’s found his range. The ball for the second goal was sublime and his free kick was a piece of individual brilliance.”

The Celtic manager also expressed his delight with his side’s result over their hosts.

“We could have added more goals towards the end but I’m very, very happy with the performance,” he said.

“You can drop points at any time but we just made sure the application was right, we started really well, on the front foot.”

“We could have passed it better but it was difficult to do that at the pace we want to play.”

“Defensively we played very well, the full-backs played well and Samaras and Stokes in particular were very, very good going forward.”
