(GSM) – Leonardo insists Milan will not fall apart after their demoralizing loss against Parma on Wednesday.

The Rossoneri could’ve gone top of the table on Sunday, but with a 1-1 draw against Napoli and yesterday’s 1-0 loss at the Ennio Tardini, they have fallen four points behind Internazionale.

“We’re on level terms with Roma now and you can see they are a team in great shape. They have talent and the good fortune to have many players on form at the same time,” Leonardo said after the match.

“Tonight we played a first half below par and struggled a great deal to emerge from Parma’s pressure. Even when we had the ball, we didn’t quite have a clear idea what to do with it.

“After the break we were hungrier and created some great chances. We thought of a different performance, as the idea was to pass the ball around and reach the box with the ball to feet.

“We were unable to do it, as we weren’t very sharp and struggled this evening.”

Tension also got to the players, as Ronaldinho and Andrea Pirlo will be suspended against Lazio.

“There’s no point thinking about Lazio now. We have to stay calm. It is the fifth defeat in 30 games and we have achieved important things.

“We’re second on level points with Roma, four points from Inter and 11 clear of fourth place. This means the team has done a great deal.

“We had many difficult moments this season and I think in my debut year I have experienced more or less everything, but the team always reacted in the right way at the right time.

“We have our objectives, there are eight games to go and we will keep on taking it one match at a time.”

There is still a chance for Milan to get back into the title race, as Inter and Roma go head-to-head on Saturday evening.

“Something will happen there, but we have got to focus on our own games and our own football.”
