(GSM) – Milan boss Leonardo insists they will fight for the Scudetto regardless of a growing injury list.

The Rossoneri are only one point adrift of league leaders Internazionale and Leonardo is well aware of the need to surpass the difficulties that face his side as they travel to Parma.

“We are happy with our position in the league. The team is focused, and we are thinking about ourselves not others,” he told the press.

“There are nine games left, 27 points up for grabs and all the games will be decisive for everyone.

“This team has held its own until now, and we will see if this group has what it takes for the final sprint.”

It’s a race that will burst into life tomorrow when the final nine laps begin at the Ennio Tardini.

“Parma are a good side and they are good at running, always working hard in every game,” he added.

“But we must maintain the way we have played recently. We did well against Napoli, but we have to make our chances count.”

Despite the injuries of key players like Allessandro Nesta and Alexandre Pato, Leonardo believes the team must move on, without using the handicap as an excuse.

“Every team suffers from injuries, and there are teams that are in a similar situation to us,” he concluded.
