A superb first half saw Santos Laguna to a 3-1 win at Liga MX strugglers Jaguares on Friday.
Santos Laguna – who began the day in eighth – climbed to fifth with the victory which was set up in the first 25 minutes.
Herculez Gomez opened the scoring for the winners on 14 minutes and although Luis Rey quickly levelled for the hosts, parity would not last long.
Oribe Peralta immediately restored Santos Laguna’s lead on 18 minutes and just three minutes later, Gomez was in on the act again.
The American’s second helped the visitors to a two-goal advantage at half-time and it was one they did not surrender as they made it two wins on the trot.
