Atlas moved within one point of Liga MX leaders Tigres UANL with a 1-0 win over Toluca on Sunday.
An 81st-minute goal from Rodrigo Millar was enough to get Atlas over the line with the win moving them clear in second place on the table with 23 points from 10 games.
Pumas UNAM also left it late as they overcame Puebla 1-0 at the Estadio Cuauhtemoc.
The match appeared to be heading for a goalless draw before Martin Bravo popped up with one minute remaining to gift Pumas the three points.
The result sees Antonio Borja Navarrete’s men move to sixth place on the table with 16 points while Puebla are two points behind in 10th.
In the day’s other match, Guadalajara had Rafael Marquez Lugo to thank after the forward struck his 11th goal of the season to lift his side to a 1-0 win over Pachuca.
