A cracking volley from Edson Rivera helped Atlas continue their great start to the Liga MX season with a 2-1 win over Atlante on Sunday.
Jahir Barraza had given the hosts a sixth-minute lead at Estadio Jalisco in Guadalajara before a Facundo Erpen own goal put Atlante on level terms.
Former Sporting Braga striker Rivera decided the contest with a wonderful left-foot volley from just inside the area.
The 21-year-old took a touch to beat his marker and set up the strike, which flew into the bottom corner and left Jorge Villalpando with no chance.
After six Clausura matches this campaign, Atlas sit fourth – three points behind leaders Tigres UANL – while Atlanta are 14th.
In other matches, Tigres hammered Toluca 4-1, while second-placed America edged Tijuana 2-1.
Cruz Azul played out their fourth draw in six matches – 1-1 against Pumas UNAM – while Puebla beat San Luis 3-1 and Pachuca were too good for Santos Laguna in a 1-0 win.
Morelia were 1-0 winners at home to Leon, Guadalajara overcame Monterrey by the same scoreline and Queretaro and Jaguares drew 1-1.
