Liga MX wrap: Toluca grab top spot, Tijuana seal second

Toluca finished the regular season top of the Liga MX ensuring their automatic advancement to the group stage of the Copa Libertadores.

Enrique Meza’s side defeated San Luis 2-0 and will play Guadalajara in the first round of the playoffs next weekend.

Guadalajara were defeated 2-0 by second-placed Tijuana and just scraped into the finals in eighth place.

Leon finished third thanks to a 3-1 win over Atlas and will play sixth-placed Cruz Azul after they drew with Monterrey 1-1.

In other results on Saturday, Morelia beat Santos Laguna 2-0 to take fifth spot, Tigres UANL were locked 1-1 with America, Pachuca edged Jaguares 2-1.

On Sunday, Pumas UNAM beat Atlante 3-2 and Puebla went down to Queretaro 1-0 at home.
