Sporting Lisbon have eased relegation fears for another week they overcame Gil Vicente 3-2 in the Primeira Liga on Saturday.

The 18-time champions went into the match just four points from safety and got off to the best possible start with Bruma and Tiago Ilori putting the away side two goals ahead within the first six minutes.

Gil Vicente refused to lie down, however, and levelled the match thanks to a goal either side of the half from Hugo Vieira before Capel scored what proved to be the match-winner for Sporting in the 63rd minute.

The win sees Jesualdo Ferreira’s side climb to seventh on the table, seven points clear of the relegation zone, while Gil Vicente remain just three points clear from safety in 12th.
