Ahmed Hassan went from hero to villain as he scored before being sent off in Rio Ave’s 1-1 Liga Sagres draw at home to Braga on Monday.

Egyptian striker Hassan put the hosts at Estadio do Rio Ave ahead after just three minutes with his third goal of the season.

But a penalty from Braga attacker Alan levelled scores on the stroke of half-time.

Rio Ave ended the game with 10 men after Hassan received a straight red card in the 88th minute.

The draw had no bearing on the standings, with Braga staying fourth on 31 points, one place and two points clear of Rio Ave.
