Benfica recorded a comfortable 3-1 win over Estoril to stay top of the Primeira Liga table on Sunday.
The Lisbon outfit hit the front after 36 minutes as midfielder Nicolas Gaitan opened his account for the season.
Brazilian substitute Rodrigo Lima doubled Benfica’s lead on the hour mark before Eduardo Salvio put the result beyond doubt six minutes later.
Goncalo pulled a goal back for Estoril but it proved nothing more than a consolation as Jorge Jesus’ men moved three points clear at the summit with a game in hand.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Eder’s 56th-minute goal handed third-placed Sporting Braga a narrow 1-0 victory at home to bottom side Moreirense, while Maritimo and Beira-Mar shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Estadio dos Barreiros.
