Lyon have Clement Grenier to thank for snatching a dramatic late victory away to Montpellier in Ligue 1 on Friday.
Visitors Lyon led in the match at the Stade de la Mosson through Lisandro Lopez’s 29th-minute goal, with Grenier providing the assist.
Montpellier were level in the 41st minute when Remy Cabella teeing up Younes Belhanda to equalise.
It looked like the hosts – last season’s surprise Ligue 1 champions – were set to hold out for a draw, but Grenier had other ideas, the midfielder netting a 93rd-minute winner.
The victory sees Lyon climb to second and close to within eight points of league leaders Paris Saint-Germain, who host Nice on Sunday.
Marseille can regain second spot from Lyon if they beat Brest at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday.
Montpellier meanwhile are seventh, six points off Europa League qualification, having struggled to reproduce the form which took them to the title last term.
